Calcite - $800
One of the most attractive Calcites that I’ve seen from
Tsumeb in this size, and one of my favorite specimens in
the entire update. This piece features very light
pink, compressed rhombohedra of Calcite with striking serrated
edges and thousands of gorgeous stepped striations forming
a fantastic large cabinet crystal group. Except
for the periphery, virtually all of the crystals are damage
free. The individual rhombs on this piece are very good
sized as well, and take my word for it, the piece looks
better than the photos indicate.
Locality: Tsumeb mine, Tsumeb,
Otjikoto Region,
Namibia
Specimen Size: 16.0 x 11.3 x 7.0 cm.
Largest Rhombohedron: 8.2 cm.

Calcite - $750
A nice cabinet specimen featuring very sharp, lustrous,
gemmy (water-clear in areas) colorless rhombohedra of Calcite
on matrix. The largest rhomb is contacted on the side
where it clearly detached from the pocket wall, but the
piece remains a very good quality Tsumeb Calcite.
Locality: Tsumeb mine, Tsumeb,
Otjikoto Region,
Namibia
Specimen Size: 10.8 x 9.0 x 7.5 cm.

Calcite on Quartz - $50 (SOLD)
Two of the most common species on the planet, yet not often
seen from Tsumeb. You can clearly see the form of
the prismatic Quartz crystals which have been completely
coated (possibly replaced?) by white lustrous Calcite rhombohedra
sitting on matrix. A more than reasonably priced cabinet
size display piece of this association.
Locality: Tsumeb mine, Tsumeb,
Otjikoto Region,
Namibia
Specimen Size: 12.2 x 5.0 x 4.3 cm.
Largest Calcite/Quartz “spire”: 1.7 cm.

Calcite with Mottramite - $250
(SOLD)
This beauty of a small cabinet features a few isolated,
sharp, lustrous, gemmy, well-formed, rhombohedra of Calcite
with some attractive black fibrous inclusions as well as
red Hematite which are
associated with green Mottramite on matrix. The Calcites
are very good shape, with only a tiny amount of rough spots.
The overall balance and aesthetics make it one of the best
Calcites in the update.
Locality: Tsumeb mine, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
Specimen Size: 7.8 x 5.5 x 4.5 cm.
Largest Calcite Rhomb: 3.2 cm.

Calcite on Duftite on Calcite -
(SOLD)
A true Tsumeb classic! This is a gorgeous and sculptural
display specimen consisting of a plate of large, white Calcite
rhombohedra which are covered by a rich green carpet of
Duftite, but to top it off, the piece has additional white
Calcite rhombs on TOP of the Duftite ! One does not often
encounter a piece with Duftite sandwiched in between Calcite
like this. The specimen is in amazing shape overall, and
it is easily one of my favorite pieces of this rare association
that I have seen. Duftite and Calcite really just seem to
go together, don’t they?
Locality: Tsumeb mine, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia

form for Calcite from Tsumeb.

Calcite on Mottramite - $500
(SOLD)
What a gorgeous Calcite, not only for the crystals themselves,
but for the beautiful matrix on which the crystals rest.
This piece features attractive, sharp, highly lustrous,
gemmy, colorless, compressed rhombohedra of Calcite with
prominent striated faces and serrated edges. If that were
not enough, these crystals are sitting atop elegant, flowing
dendritic and botryoidal, bright olive green color Mottramite.
This specimen is in great condition, and I think it’s a
superb Tsumeb Calcite for the price.
Locality: Tsumeb mine, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
Specimen Size: 8.1 x 5.6 x 3.0 cm. Largest Rhombohedron:
2.0 cm.
