Mimetite - (SOLD)
This is a very good looking Mimetite
featuring a rich golden yellow and lemon yellow
colored crystallized “vein” running the length of
the specimen.
The crystals are all prismatic in habit,
with decent translucency and resinous luster sitting
on a gossan matrix.
One does not often see such a rich Mimetite
specimen with so many larger sized crystals on matrix,
especially in a cabinet sized piece!
I think the price is very fair considering
that only a few crystals are contacted, and Tsumeb
has set the standard for the species as far as I’m
concerned.
Locality:
Tsumeb mine, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
Specimen Size: 12.2 x 9.7 x 4.7
cm.
Largest Mimetite:
0.8 cm.

Wulfenite - $1250
A very good sized and attractive toenail sized Wulfenite
thumbnail consisting of a pair of sharp, lustrous, rather
thick, translucent butterscotch colored crystals. One end
of the specimen is pretty gemmy, and would yield a small
gem of a beautiful color. A few tiny nicks are the only
thing keeping this piece from a world class toenail, and
it is still very impressive in its own right.
Locality: Tsumeb mine, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
Specimen Size: 3.5 x 2.7 x 1.1 cm.

Mimetite - $950
This is a lovely group of sharp, lustrous, gemmy, yellow
prismatic Mimetite crystals oriented into a stalactitic
formation around a hollow cast after (?). Not the easiest
specimen to photograph, but you can see in the closeup that
one of the crystals is actually doubly-terminated ! You
do not see many Mimetites like this on the market from Tsuemb.
Locality: Tsumeb mine, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
Specimen Size: 4.6 x 1.2 x 1.1 cm.
Largest Crystal: 12 mm.

Wulfenite on Dolomite - $900
Is there any locality with more habits and colors for Wulfenite
than Tsumeb? This piece is a striking display piece featuring
bright orange, sharp, lustrous tabular Wulfenite crystals
sitting on almost porcelain like, rhombic, sharp, lustrous
Dolomite matrix. The color is as bright as any Wulfenite
crystals I have seen from Tsumeb, but there are few broken
crystals and nicks, which are the only things keeping this
from being a top-notch specimen of this highly sought after
material. If you’ve always wanted one of the bright orange
Wulfenites, but didn’t want to spend a great deal to get
it, this is the piece for you.
Locality: Tsumeb mine, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
Specimen Size: 5.8 x 5.5 x 3.8 cm.
Largest Wulfenite: 7.0 mm.

Mimetite - $100
An interesting, exposed, crystallized vug host several
rather large, sharp, lustrous, translucent, attractive
yellow color, prismatic Mimetite crystals. Unfortunately,
the vug was too small for the solution, and the crystals
grew from one side to the other without terminating.
If the opening was a bit larger, these would be some
very impressive Mimetites for size, quality and color.
Locality: Tsumeb mine, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
Specimen Size: 9.5 x 8.2 x 7.2 cm.
Largest Mimetite: 1.8 cm.

Mimetite Stalactite - $300 (SOLD)
Here we have a rarely seen group of micro, prismatic, pyramidal
Mimetite crystals in a unique and attractive stalactitic
formation. The Mimetites are tan in color, and actually
form little spherical “sprays” all the way up and down the
specimen. There is some associated green Duftite in select
areas, which gives the piece artistic highlights. I can
find some very small spherical Malachites on the specimen
as well. The top of the piece is contacted, but can be displayed
at eye-level where the damage really doesn’t show. Don’t
miss out on this atypical Mimetite.
Locality: Tsumeb mine, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
Specimen Size: 7.1 x 2.8 x 2.6 cm.

Mimetite - $600 (SOLD)
This is certainly one of the most unusual and unique Mimetite
specimens that I have seen from Tsumeb. These sharp, lustrous,
prismatic crystals range from a tan shade to a light golden-brown,
but the arrangement and light green Duftite association
(along with reddish-brown areas of an unkown mineral) make
it a colorful and artistic small miniature. There are a
few minor contacts, but nothing to take away from the general
appeal of this specimen. Please note that this
specimen was collected in the first oxidized zone, and
was mined prior to WWI.
Locality: Tsumeb mine, Tsumeb, Otjikoto Region, Namibia
Specimen Size: 4.0 x 3.3 x 2.0 cm.
