Spinel is one of those gem that comes in a great range of colors. Most people are familiar with the Ruby Spinels, but a large percentage of Spinels out there are not red. This is a beautiful purple Spinel from a recent discovery in Sri Lanka. It is an attractive stone with a rich coloration showing a mix of pinkish-purple hue. The gem is VS in clarity and has a "Brilliant Oval" cut. This is certainly a good quality, larger Spinel with a lovely color.
