The Zanett tunnel is named after the family that owns the Grizzly Bear mine. Rhodochrosite specimens from this mine are among some of the most sought after San Juan Rhodochrosites by Colorado collectors. This specimen hosts very good-sized (for the locality), sharp, lustrous, well-formed, rich pink colored rhombohedrons of Rhodochrosite which have formed into a crystallized "plate" that is actually free of matrix. The largest Rhodochrosite crystal measures 6 mm. I can't see any damage except around the periphery where the piece was removed from the pocket wall. A beautiful miniature-sized specimen of this classic material. Very good quality, eye-catching and rare on the market. The piece comes from the collection of Brett Keller with a dealer label from Jasun McAvoy and an old label from the Robert E. Jenkins II collection.
