crystals has a small "rub" on one of the terminations, and one of the secondary
crystals has an incomplete termination. The reverse side of the specimen

attractive in person. For the size, this piece is a great value and can be

Calcite on matrix -
$500 NET
For the size, this is a dramatic Calcite specimen from
any mine, not just Elmwood. It features a very good size, hefty, sharp, lustrous,
translucent, scalenohedral, golden color Calcite crystal with a few smaller
Calcite crystals perched on matrix. Now it must be noted that there is a
bare spot on the piece where a now missing Calcite once grew. Also, the
large Calcite crystal has a contact at the base where it was most likely removed
from the pocket wall. The piece can be displayed in a manner that
allows the damage to be less distracting. Obviously, if this piece were
perfect, the price would be more than ten times the wholesale value listed, but
if you want a rather large, flashy, aesthetic, colorful display specimen, and
you can live with the fact that this is not perfect, this one is for you.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the size and weight of this specimen, we will be charging a
$20 fee for U.S. customers to ship this piece. This is one of the RARE
instances where we actually charge for domestic shipping on a specimen.
Locality:
Elmwood Mine, Carthage, Smith Co., Tennessee
