Calcite is one of the most abundant and diversified minerals in the world.  It's no wonder that collectors have been able to build collections containing thousands of Calcite specimens, and no two look exactly alike. Calcite has possibly more crystal habits than any other species, combined with the fact that its atomic structure allows for a wide range of chemical chromophores, it will always be a favorite for collectors.
