Gemstone # OLIGOTANZ214A
Name: Oligoclase (Feldspar)
Locality: Tanzania
Weight: 2.14 carats
Size: 8.08 x 6.57 mm
Price per Carat: $ 45.00
Price For Stone: $ 96.30
      Cut: Infinity
Color: Light Blue
Clarity: Eye Clean
Cut by Us: No
Availability: Available

Comments:

This is a unique cut and works well with the material. The pavilion of the stone is a modified round brilliant, but the girdle and crown were based on a Double French Star cut. The combination of these two cuts gives this stone character, and a very interesting look.  The gem is more lively than the photos indicate, and the light blue tinge in the stone is rare to find in facet grade Feldspar.  This stone was faceted by Brett Kosnar.

Gemstone # OPALMEX121
Name: Opal with "Contra Luz" color flash
Locality: Mexico
Weight: 1.21 carats
Size: 7.85 mm
Price per Carat: $ 100.00
Price For Stone: $ 121.00
      Cut: Modified Round Brillant
Color: White with color flash
Clarity: Eye Clean
Cut by Us: yes
Availability: Available

Comments:

This stone was faceted by Brett Kosnar from a high quality piece of rough that he personally hand-selected.  The material is incredibly difficult to find on the market, and even smaller gems with this kind of color flash are few and far between. The stone is essentially a white precious Opal, but when rotated in a strong light, one can see five different flashes of color including red, orange, yellow, green and blue.

Gemstone # SUNOREG570
Name: Sunstone
Locality: Oregon
Weight: 5.70 carats
Size: 14.67 x 8.84 mm
Price per Carat: $ 125.00
Price For Stone: $ 712.50
      Cut: Modifed Bar
Color: Deep Blue and Red
Clarity: VSI
Cut by Us: No
Availability: Available

Comments:

This is one of the most unique Sunstones we have ever had the privilege to facet.  Sunstone from Oregon is typically a pale champagne color and will commonly have an internal "shiller" which is caused by minute Copper inclusions.  Approximately 5% of the Sunstone rough from Oregon shows any strong color, most often red, but in rare cases BLUE gems have been found.  This stone amazingly shows both the red AND blue colors together, which in our experience is exceptionally rare.  Additionally, we have never seen a Sunstone with such an intense saturation of the two colors together.  This stone was faceted by Brett Kosnar.

Gemstone # DIOPCON344
Name: Dioptase
Locality: Congo
Weight: 3.44 carats
Size: 9.09 mm
Price per Carat: $ 200.00
Price For Stone: $ 688.00
      Cut: Cut Corner Trillion
Color: Emerald Green
Clarity: Gemmy
Cut by Us: yes
Availability: Available

Comments:

Dioptase has one of the most distinctive and alluring colors of any crystallized mineral species. Dioptase is known as one of the premier species from localities like Tsumeb, and is a favorite among collectors world wide. This large faceted gem is actually from Republic of Congo, not Tsumeb, and it is one of the largest Dioptase stones I have seen. Now this gem is not 100% gem quality, but it does pass light, and it has the classic electric emerald green color for which the species is known. This "Cut Corner Trillion" cut gem was faceted by Brett Kosnar.

Gemstone # SPHALSPA3752
Name: Sphalerite
Locality: Spain
Weight: 37.52 carats
Size: 22.53 mm
Price per Carat: $ 20.00
Price For Stone: $ 750.40
      Cut: Modified Trillion
Color: Red, Orange, Yellow
Clarity: SI
Cut by Us: yes
Availability: Available

Comments:

Perhaps the most celebrated facet grade Sphalerite in the world is the material from Spain.  Unfortunately, the area is no longer producing this gorgeous rough, and good quality stones are becoming harder to obtain. This gem is large and colorful, displaying distinct red, orange and yellow hues.  Stones of this size are not unheard of, but it takes a significant mastery of the material to produce gems like this.  Simply put, the stone explodes with color in person, and the photos do not do it justice.  The fiery, almost metallic internal apperance of the stone is seldom seen in any other gems.  A worthwhile, and fairly priced large collector's stone of one of the few facetable/gem quality sulfides in the world!

Name: Elbaite Tourmaline var. Indicolite

Price per Carat: $ 50.00
Price For Stone: $ 175.00
      Cut: Lucifer
Color: Deep Navy Blue

Comments:

This stone displays a gorgeous deep navy blue color, and is uncommonly clean for Tourmaline.  Please note that the stone has a very deep color in person, and does need a good light for the color to really shine through.

Gemstone # SUNOREG1520
Name: Sunstone
Locality: Oregon
Weight: 15.20 carats
Size: 20.02 x 13.28 mm
Price per Carat: $ 100.00
Price For Stone: $ 1520.00
      Cut: Antique Pear
Color: Peachy-Red
Clarity: VSI
Cut by Us: No
Availability: Available

Comments:

A modern version of a traditional antique pear cut which exhibits the color and quality of this material very well. Oregon rarely produces Sunstone rough that will yield a 15 carat gemstone with this kind of color and quality.  The beautiful peachy-red color of the gem is caused from a combination of the two deep red stripes of color that run diagonally across the stone, and a strong presence of what is known as “shiller”, which is attributed to micro Copper inclusions.  This stone was faceted by Brett Kosnar.

Gemstone # SUNOREG358
Name: Sunstone
Locality: Oregon
Weight: 3.58 carats
Size: 10.13 mm

Price For Stone: $ 358.00
      Cut: Modified Round Brilliant
Color: Peachy-Red
Clarity: VSI
Cut by Us: No

Comments:

A gorgeous peachy-red color gem with strong and eye-catching "shiller" (Copper inclusions) thoughout the stone.  The warm, metallic appearance of the stone is the reason why these are some of the most impressive gem grade Feldspars from not just the United States, but any world locality.  This stone was faceted by Allyce Kosnar.

Gemstone # SPHALBUL769
Name: Sphalerite
Locality: Bulgaria
Weight: 7.69 carats
Size: 11.77 mm
Price per Carat: $ 35.00 SOLD
Price For Stone: $ 269.15 SOLD
      Cut: Sunflower
Color: Golden Orange
Clarity: VVSI
Cut by Us: No
Availability: sold

Comments:

This cut goes against traditional faceting etiquette, because it does not have a table. Several low angle facets have replaced the table which brings out more brilliance in this stone. This cut also allows for Sphalerite to display some excellent color flash.
