MICROCLINE
(variety "Amazonite"
) on Albite (variety
"Cleavelandite")
- $2,200
I've seen as many Amazonite specimens as any
collector or dealer in Colorado. This is the only
piece that I've ever seen like this. Two superb, sharp,
lustrous, deep dark blue-green color crystals aesthetically growing
together and forming a "bridge" over a mound of
Cleavelandite blades. The quality and deep
dark color of these crystals is fantastic. A very
unique specimen.
Locality: R. A. Kosnar Claim, Lake George area, Park
County, Colorado
Collected: December 27, 1975
Specimen Size: 5.0 x 4.8 x 3.1 cm.

I really like this piece simply because I have a genuine
appreciation for Amazonites, especially any Amazonite
specimen on Albite (var: "Cleavelandite"). This piece exhibits two
superb, very sharp, lustrous, dark blue-green color crystals aesthetically perched
on Cleavelandite blades. The quality and deep
dark color of these crystals is very very good.

A superb, blue-green color "WHITE-CAP" crystal group
with very minor Smoky Quartz crystals. This is the classic
material that came from Richard Kosnar's "Striped
Claim". The piece is repaired, but still a very hard to
find type of crystal from this area.

George, Park Co., Colorado
