MICROCLINE
(variety "Amazonite"
) on Albite (variety
"Cleavelandite")
- $2,200
I've seen as many Amazonite specimens as any
collector or dealer in Colorado. This is the only
piece that I've ever seen like this. Two superb, sharp,
lustrous, deep dark blue-green color crystals aesthetically growing
together and forming a "bridge" over a mound of
Cleavelandite blades. The quality and deep
dark color of these crystals is fantastic. A very
unique specimen.
Locality: R. A. Kosnar Claim, Lake George area, Park
County, Colorado
Collected: December 27, 1975
Specimen Size: 4.7 x 4.8 x 3.1 cm.

COVELLITE
on matrix - $1,500 (SOLD)
A fantastic, "miniature" size specimen. These crystals
are superb, sharp, lustrous, iridescent blades on

many of them are somewhat buried in matrix. This
piece is special because the crystals are isolated and
flaring off the matrix.

County, Colorado

No. Rhodo GC 1
RHODOCHROSITE
- $2,500 (SOLD)
There are few Rhodochrosite specimens from
Colorado that are as close to my heart as these, with
the exception of the great Rhodo's from the
world-famous Sweet Home mine. The reason that I
love the Rhodochrosites from the Moose mine is due to
the fact that the mine is practically in my backyard.
Black Hawk, Colorado is known as the "Richest Square
Mile on Earth", and was the site of the discovery of Gold
in Colorado. The Moose mine sits near the area that
was the first Colorado Gold Rush. This is a very
large, deep cherry red, gem/gemmy, lustrous
rhombohedron with some of the well-noted Manganese
Oxide coatings on the surface of the crystal. These
MnO coatings are typical and characteristic of Moose
mine Rhodos. It doesn't show very well in the photos,
but this piece has really clean gem areas inside, like a
large gem rhomb from the Sweet Home, however, large
gemmy Rhodos from this locality are exponentially
more rare ! I've only seen a handful of Moose mine
Rhodo specimens in my life, and this is my favorite by
far !!
Locality: Moose mine, Gilpin County, Colorado
Specimen Size: 3.2 x 2.5 x 2.5 cm.
