From the find of 2004. To the best of my knowledge, I have directly acquired/imported more of these fantastic new Bolivian Bournonites than any other dealer in the country, and I've kept my prices very fair. There were two separate finds at Machacamarca. The difference between them is that the first find had specimens on Quartz matrix with associated rhombic Siderite and the second find consisted of specimens on octahedral Pyrite plus Quartz matrix also associated with rhombic Siderite. It should be noted that specimens from the second find were slightly better quality. The quality of these crystals could hardly be any better. While the crystals are typically more simplistic (non-twinned) than the classic old specimens from Herodsfoot, Cornwall, England, the luster and form is as good as any locality has ever produced in this quantity. The morphology of both localities is very similar though as specimens from each mine have associated tan colored Siderite crystals on Quartz matrix. There are no "cruciform" twin crystals in these lots from Bolivia like Herodsfoot, but nearly every specimen is on matrix and most are highly aesthetic and attractive.
Enjoy !!

BOURNONITE on Quartz and Pyrite
Locality: Viboras Mine, Machacamarca, Machacamarca District (Colavi District), Cornelio Saavedra Province, Potosí Department, Bolivia
Specimen Size: 13.2 x 12.4 x 7.5 cm (cabinet)
This is the largest specimen in the lot. The only crystal on the specimen is fine, sharp, very attractive, with good luster on a Quartz/Pyrite matrix. I decided not to trim this piece into a smaller specimen because the underlying rock is rather unsightly and would have shown no matter where I decided to trim it. (Crystal: 2.2 cm. on edge)

BOURNONITE
Locality: Viboras Mine, Machacamarca, Machacamarca District (Colavi District), Cornelio Saavedra Province, Potosí Department, Bolivia
Specimen Size: 5 x 4 x 0.5 cm (miniature)
While perhaps this is not the most textbook crystal in the world, it has a fantastic termination, which I've tried to illustrated in the lower photo. I think it is fairly priced for what it is.

BOURNONITE on Quartz with Siderite
Locality: Viboras Mine, Machacamarca, Machacamarca District (Colavi District), Cornelio Saavedra Province, Potosí Department, Bolivia
Specimen Size: 5.8 x 5.6 x 4.5 cm (small cabinet)
This piece has a very large crystal for this material, however, there is minor damage. This crystal has an unusual shape due to fact that it might have been contacted to the wall of the pocket when it was collected, which is why it is less expensive than a perfect crystal of this size. It is very lustrous with good form. The matrix is crystallized micro Quartz with greenish-brown rhombic Siderite. (Crystal Size: 4.2 cm. !!)

BOURNONITE on Quartz
Locality: Viboras Mine, Machacamarca, Machacamarca District (Colavi District), Cornelio Saavedra Province, Potosí Department, Bolivia
Specimen Size: 8 x 6 x 4 cm (small cabinet)
This really is the finest specimen in the lot for my taste. The piece has an extremely large, very sharp, incredibly lustrous, showy, well-formed, highly aesthetic crystal group perched upon a microcrystalline Quartz matrix. This "cabinet" size specimen is one the finest matrix Bournonite specimens that I have seen from Bolivia. (Crystal Group: 5.5 x 3 cm. across)

A spectacular, sharp, spelendent, tabular "textbook" crystal on Quartz with Pyrite. A sweet little "toenail" size specimen.

BOURNONITE with Pyrite
Locality: Viboras Mine, Machacamarca, Machacamarca District (Colavi District), Cornelio Saavedra Province, Potosí Department, Bolivia
Specimen Size: 5 x 5 x 5.5 cm (small cabinet)
This one is a bit different because it has an interesting parallel crystal growth and it's on matrix. I admit that the piece is not the best specimen in the lot, but could be considered the most unique.

BOURNONITE with Quartz/Siderite "stem"
Locality: Viboras Mine, Machacamarca, Machacamarca District (Colavi District), Cornelio Saavedra Province, Potosí Department, Bolivia
Specimen Size: 5.5 x 5 x 4 cm (small cabinet)
This piece has an interesting combination of a fine, large, sharp, lustrous, tabular crystal and a "stem" of Quartz and Siderite extending from the bottom of the crystal which acts as a natural stand. On the end of this "stem" there is a small Bournonite crystal, which has some minor damage.

BOURNONITE with Pyrite
Locality: Viboras Mine, Machacamarca, Machacamarca District (Colavi District), Cornelio Saavedra Province, Potosí Department, Bolivia
Specimen Size: 4.7 x 4.5 x 3.6 cm (miniature)
This is a strange "miniature" size specimen consisting of dozens of sharp, lustrous, tabular crystals. I think it displays rather nicely and has an interesting arrangement.
