Locality: Bahia, Brazil
Size: 8.6 x 6.8 mm Shape: Cushion
Color: Green-Blue / Orange-Red Clarity: Eye Clean

Comments: This material is some of the most classic trichroic gems in the world.  There is a great distinct mix of green, orange/pink and yellow. This stone has very intense colors for Andalusite, with lots of flash.

Gemstone No. Aquamarine Stone 1

To order this Gemstone click here
Name: Aquamarine Weight: 2.93 cts.
Price Per Carat: $50/ct Price For Stone: $146.50
Locality: Squaw Pass, Colorado
Size: 9 x 8 mm Shape: Cushion
Color: Pale Sky Blue Clarity: Eye Clean
Cut by us: YES Availability: SOLD
Comments: This is an excellent gemstone for several reasons.  Colorado Aquas are simply not seen very often in today's market, and the majority of stones are from Mt. Antero.  The rough from which this stone was faceted was collected by Richard A. Kosnar in the 1970's from Squaw Pass, Colorado which is a noted Beryl locality.  For a "locality" gemstone, this is a significant piece. This color of stone is good for an Aquamarine from this locality (please note that the color is darker in the photos than in person), and very clean.  The cut on this stone is a Portuguese Cushion, which is a very beautiful cut that helps bring out the color in the gem.

Gemstone No. Diopside Stone 1 To order this Gemstone click here
Name: Diopside Weight: 1.76 cts.
Price Per Carat: $200/ct Price For Stone: $352
Locality: Rotkopf, Zillertal, Tirol, Austria
Size: 8.5 x 7.5 mm Shape: Trillion Cushion
Color: Lime Green / Olive Green Clarity: Eye Clean
Cut by us: NO Availability: Available
Comments: This is a very old and rare gemstone cut from a crystal that was mined in the 1880's!!  The crystal came from Richard Kosnar's European Alpine mineral collection.  These were very popular in European jewelry until the turn of the 20th Century.  It was cut by a local award winning cutter and it is top quality!  This is not Chrome Diopside, but rather something much more rare and collectible.  These crystals are simply not found anymore, so the stones are just as difficult to obtain.  You can't find this material in any format or venue.  The only places you'll see them are in old museums and the best private collections.  This is a great opportunity to own an "antique" gemstone from Europe (although the stone was recently cut, the crystal was well over 120 years old!).  You must realize that the contemporary Chrome Diopside from Russia, despite its fantastic color, is still contemporary and from one of the largest gem deposits in Russia.  It is not as valuable in my mind when compared to this particular gem from the Alps.  This is a brilliant stone with two distinct, and very beautiful green colors that sparkle.

Gemstone No. Fire Opal Stone 3 To order this Gemstone click here
Name: Fire Opal Weight: 1.50 cts.
Price Per Carat: $75/ct Price For Stone: $112.50
Locality: Mexico
Size: 10.3 x 8.8 mm Shape: Kite
Color: Cherry Red Clarity: VVS Milky
Cut by us: YES Availability: Available
Comments: This stone is flashy and eye-catching.  When it comes to Mexico, The cherry red Fire Opal material is the most sought after color, but is often very milky.  This gem however is exceptionally clean and clear for this material.  This is one of the nicest cherry color stones I have ever seen from this locality.

Gemstone No. Fluorite Stone 1 To order this Gemstone click here
Name: Fluorite Weight: 10.56 cts.
Price Per Carat: $20/ct Price For Stone: $211.20
Locality: Lake George, Park Co., Colorado
Size: 20.01 x 14.69 mm Shape: Kite
Color: Pale Lilac Clarity: Sl. Incl.
Cut by us: Yes Availability: Available
Comments: This is a relatively large gem from a locality that is well known for its Amazonite/Smoky Quartz combination specimens.  These pegmatites do have their fair share of Fluorite specimens as well, but rarely are they large enough or clean enough (most Fluorites from Lake George have a lot of internal cleavage fractures) to facet.  This gem does have a small amount of inclusions, but the stone is over 10 carats, which is impressive from this area.  This gem is more or less a "locality" stone for a Fluorite collector or a Colorado gem collector, but very attractive.

Gemstone No. Fluorite Stone 2 To order this Gemstone click here
Name: Fluorite Weight: 28.50 cts.
Price Per Carat: $15/ct Price For Stone: $427.50
Locality: Yucca Hill, Lake George, Park County, Colorado
Size: 32 x 36 x 27 mm Shape: Round
Color: Pale Pink Clarity: Mod. Incl.
Cut by us: Yes Availability: Available
Comments: We found the rough for this stone while digging through a mixed box of Lake George Amazonites, Smoky Quartzes and Fluorites collected by Richard Kosnar in the mid to late 1970's.  The rough for this stone was collected on August 10, 1977.  This stone is absolutely authentic, and is one of the VERY few and extremely scarce pink Fluorites from this area.   Granted there are some inclusions in this stone, but to find a true pink Fluorite from this famous locality is truly amazing.  The stone also comes with a handwritten note from Richard Kosnar detailing the specifics of  when and where the crystal from which this stone was cut was collected.  This stone has a modified Portuguese round cut.

Gemstone No. Fluorite Stone 3 To order this Gemstone click here

Name: Fluorite Weight: 37.57 cts.
Price Per Carat: $28/ct Price For Stone: $1,051.96
Locality: Mozambique
Size: 20.18 mm Shape: Mod. Trillion
Color: Sea Foam Green Clarity: Eye Clean
Cut by us: Yes Availability: Available
Comments: I have only seen a few cut stones of this extraordinary material in my life.  The story behind this stone is that it was collected over 20 years ago by a miner in Mozambique who found a large surface deposit of this incredible, large gem quality Fluorite but never revealed the location of the deposit.  He unfortunately died before sharing his secret locality with anybody, causing the deposit to be lost.  I honestly believe this story because I have yet to see any other Fluorite gems from anywhere else in the world that are like this.  This particular gem is a superb, excellent quality, gigantic, deep, exceptionally bright Cut Corner Trillion stone with great color.  It is simply amazing to have a gem this large with such good clarity and quality.  It is truly and impressive one-of-a-kin gemstone  I cannot say if this material will ever resurface, and this is the only gem of this material that I have left.

Gemstone No. Goshenite Stone 1 To order this Gemstone click here
Name: Goshenite (Beryl) Weight: 2.24 cts.
Price Per Carat: $35/ct Price For Stone: $78.40
Locality: Squaw Pass, Colorado
Size: 10 x 8 mm Shape: Oval
Color: Colorless Clarity: Eye Clean
Cut by us: No Availability: SOLD
Comments:  This is an excellent gemstone for several reasons.  Colorado Beryls are simply not seen very often in today's market, and the majority of stones are from Mt. Antero.  The rough from which this stone was faceted was collected by Richard A. Kosnar in the 1970's from Squaw Pass, Colorado which is a noted Beryl locality.  For a "locality" gemstone, this is a significant piece.  Colorless Beryl is difficult to find from many localities in the world, but Colorado has a sporadic amount.  The cut on this stone is an Oval Brilliant and it has wonderful brilliance.

Gemstone No. Heliodor Stone 3 To order this Gemstone click here

Name: Heliodor (Beryl) Weight: 4.49 cts.
Price Per Carat: $125/ct Price For Stone: $561.25
Locality: Topsham, Sagadahoc Co., Maine
Size: 12.04 x 9.89 mm Shape: Oval

Cut by us: No Availability: SOLD
Comments: This is an old, classic stone from Maine.  The rough from this gem was listed as coming from a crystal collected by the early 20th Century, noted gem and mineral dealer George L. English.  The stone is remarkable for its size being well over 4 carats.  This material is rarely seen in such bright, clean faceted stones in today's market.

Gemstone No. Petalite Stone 1 To order this Gemstone click here
Name: Petalite Weight: 2.55 cts.
Price Per Carat: $200/ct Price For Stone: $510.00
Locality: Tamminen Quarry, Oxford Co., Maine
Size: 12 x 7.55 mm Shape: Pear
Color: Colorless Clarity: Eye Clean
Cut by us: No Availability: SOLD
Comments: This is a very significant North American gemstones and a very important gemstone from Maine.  The rough for this gem was self-collected by Richard Kosnar in the late 1968.  This material was documented by John Sinkankas in his book Gemstones of North America, Volume 3.  This stone is very large from the Tamminen Quarry.  Richard Kosnar was one of the very first people to ever collect this superb facet grade Petalite from this locality.  As far as is known, the Tamminen Quarry has produced the ONLY facet grade Petalite from North America. This is a superb collector's gem and is worth of ANY collection.

Gemstone No. Rhodolite Stone 1 To order this Gemstone click here
Name: Rhodolite (Garnet) Weight: 1.76 cts.
Price Per Carat: $100/ct Price For Stone: $176.00
Locality: Ruby River Reservoir, Montana
Size: 8.13 x 6.15 mm Shape: Oval
Color: Pinkish-Cherry Red w/ Hot Pink Flash Clarity: Eye Clean
Cut by us: No Availability: SOLD
Comments: There are two major localities for Rhodolite in the United States, one is in North Carolina and the other is at the Ruby River Reservoir in Montana.  The rough from which this was cut was collected by Richard Kosnar in the late 1970's.  This material has undoubtedly some of the best color for Rhodolite in the world.  It rivals the finest African material I've seen and is simply electric to view. Stones over 1 carat are very difficult to find with such intense color and clarity.  Great Montana Rhodolites are highly prized for their rarity in larger stones.  The photos don't do this stone justice.  This material is very similar to the North Carolina material.

Gemstone No. Rose Quartz Stone 2 To order this Gemstone click here
Name: Quartz (Rose Colored) Weight: 15.73 cts.
Price Per Carat: $10/ct Price For Stone: $157.30
Locality: Brazil
Size: 18.83 mm Shape: Trillion
Color: Rose Pink Clarity: Slightly Milky
Cut by us: No Availability: Available
Comments: This stone is bright and colorful for a Rose Quartz stone, with a great deal of clarity as well.  It has a somewhat "opalescence"-like appearance, but the color is superb and the it is quite a large stone for this material.

Gemstone No. Scapolite Stone 4 To order this Gemstone click here
Name: Scapolite Weight: 0.38 cts.
Price Per Carat: $100/ct Price For Stone: $38.00
Locality: Afghanistan
Size: 5.29 mm Shape: Trillion
Color: Violet with slight pink overtone Clarity: Eye Clean
Cut by us: Yes Availability: Available
Comments: This is a cute and flashy gem.  It has a very saturated and electric color.  Purple Scapolite rough has become increasingly difficult to find.  There are always small amounts available, but to find clean material with good color is relatively difficult.

Gemstone No. Smoky Quartz Stone 3 To order this Gemstone click here
Name: Quartz var. Smoky Weight: 62.37 cts.
Price Per Carat: $4/ct Price For Stone: $249.48
Locality: Lake George, Colorado
Size: 32.47 x 17.20 mm Shape: Emerald Cut
Color: Smoky Honey Brown Clarity: Eye Clean
Cut by us: No Availability: SOLD
Comments: This gem ordinarily wouldn't be very significant were it not from one of the most historic and classic localities in Colorado.  This stone is definitely a "collectors" gem.   This is a very large stone for this locality.  The material form Lake George, Colorado forms exceptionally large crystals in some cases but is rarely faceted as it is often an association with fine quality crystallized Amazonite.  The rough for these pieces was from a large broken single crystal that was found in 1975 by Richard Kosnar.  This gem was somewhat difficult to photograph, but the rich deep sherry color is very attractive.  Gems this size from Lake George aren't often seen for sale in today's market.

Gemstone No. SphalStone1

To order this Gemstone click here
Name: Sphalerite Weight: 19.79 cts.
Price Per Carat: $25/ct Price For Stone: $494.75
Locality: Big Four mine,   Summit County, Colorado
Size: 14.87 mm Shape: Round
Color: Yellowish Green w/ Color Flash Clarity: Moderately Incl.
Cut by us: Yes Availability: Available

Comments: Cut Sphalerites are rare and beautiful.  It is one of the very few facetable sulfides in the world. They have a refractive index that is nearly as high as Diamond (within a few points), which means faceted stones exhibit remarkable color flash.  It is very difficult to get clean Sphalerite rough from any locality in the world, so inclusions are often accepted by collectors and cutters alike.  This stone is exceptionally large for any Colorado locality (especially the Big Four), which is very rare, especially in the highly sought after green gems.  We've collected this rough ourselves over the last year.  The cut is a Portuguese bottom, with a Bottom top, which I think makes it look very antique like.  This stone is not perfect because there are a few minor contacts on some of the facet junctions.  Nonetheless this a significantly large stone from this locality and is great Colorado collector's stone.

Gemstone No. Titanite Stone 2 To order this Gemstone click here
Name: Titanite (Spene) Weight: 0.40 cts.
Price Per Carat: $50/ct Price For Stone: $20.00
Locality: Brazil
Size: 5 x 4.2 mm Shape: Oval
Color: Yellow Green Clarity: VVS Incl.
Cut by us: No Availability: Available
Comments: Titanite is a mineral with a high refractive index, so when it is cut into a gemstone it has a good amount of "fire", showing all of the colors of the rainbow in its flashes of light.  Although this is a smaller stone, it has decent color and good dispersion.

Gemstone No. Tourmaline Stone 1 To order this Gemstone click here
Name: Tourmaline (Uvite) Weight: 0.70 cts.
Price Per Carat: $250/ct Price For Stone: $175.00
Locality: Tanzania
Size: 6.3 x 5.1 mm Shape: Oval
Color: Golden Yellow Clarity: VS Incl.
Cut by us: No Availability: Available
Comments: One of the rarest gem Tourmaline species is Uvite.  This is one of the finest color Uvites I've ever seen.  This material is usually found in very dark brown gems and typically does not have such a bright intense fiery golden yellow color like this gem.  Yellow is one of the rarest colors for Tourmaline in the world and this gem exemplifies the top Uvite color seen from Tanzania.

Gemstone No. Zircon Stone 1 To order this Gemstone click here
Name: Zircon Weight: 3.53 cts.
Price Per Carat: $65/ct Price For Stone: $229.45
Locality: Cambodia
Size: 9 x 7 mm Shape: Oval
Color: Rich Sky Blue Clarity: Eye Clean
Cut by us: No Availability: Available
Comments: For quite a few years, there has been a great number of superb color, intense blue Zircon gems to come out of Cambodia.  The best blue Zircons of any quantity undoubtedly come from this country.  This stone is up there with the best rich blue color stones that I have seen from this locality.  It is a relatively large stone with excellent color saturation.  It ishard to find stones over 1 carat and this gem is well over three times the size.  The price of these gems seems to be climbing every year and they are becoming much more valuable as it seems less and less material is coming out of the ground in Cambodia.
