During the Summer of 2007 in Pakistan, a superb find was made of exemplary, gemmy, lustrous, pinkish-orange to yellow-orange Eosphorite crystals. To the best of my knowledge, these specimens represent the best of that find. These specimens host some of the brightest color and finest quality Eosphorite crystals that I have seen from any world locality. There is obviously a strong Manganese presence in these crystals as they have little to no brown overtone whatsoever. With regard to quality, some of the smaller crystals are absolutely water-clear!
Secondly, many of these pieces are associated with several other species on the same specimen, including a few specimens with the highly sought after, very rare and beautiful phosphate, Väyrynenite. Several specimens are associated with Topaz, Tourmaline, Albite, Microcline, Lepidolite, Quartz, and possibly some kind of tantalate (Stibiotantalite or Manganotantalite?). Please note that there are a few specimens with an unidentified species, which will be noted in the descriptions below.
This is a very exciting, albeit limited discovery of these stunning Eosphorite crystals. For the color and quality, they certainly rank among the finest ever found. I purchased these specimens nearly a year ago in anticipation that more would surface, but I have subsequently seen next to nothing since that time. These specimens should excite all phosphate enthusiasts, along with collectors of Pakistani or pegmatite minerals. Please note that the locality Chamachu was the given locality when I purchased the material, and I apologize for not having anything more specific.
